Nap Time!

Its been nap time around here today. I was not feeling well so I came home from work and got some very needed rest. That enabled Kelly to step out to the grocery store for a second and grab a few items. Little Liam slept quietly while I did. He never made one peep. Thanks all and see ya real soon. Rainy Sunday!

Wow what a rainy Sunday it has been. I went out and picked up something to warm us up on this rainy day. Warm, freshly baked, cinnamon buns from the West End bakery in West Asheville. If you have never had one for yourself, you need not wait any more and run on down there and grab one. For they are to die for. Enjoy the pics. Hmmmm! Good!! Liam is doing very well! Seems to be fixating more on things and is staying up just a little bit more. Got some great pics of him in his new Radio flyer. Thanks Cousin Jesse! I love you! As we all do. Will,Kelly,Liam

Thanks Uncle Bubba and cousin Megan for my new organic cotton tops!

Visit with the Rice's

We went to visit with Uncle Randy and Aunt Dawn today! It was their first time meeting Liam. Aunt Dawn cuddled with him in the rocker for almost two sweet hours. We are super lucky to have lots of family, on both sides, in the area who are all loving and ready to help out!

Thanks to cousin Jessica Rice for sending an awesome gift basket for Liam! Jessica is serving our country and was so thoughtful to think of her new cousin from overseas. We love and miss you Jess!

What a beautiful Saturday! Spring is in the air and basketball is on. We have been getting out a bit more as a family, and it is so nice for all of us to soak up that cool breeze and longer-lasting sunshine. Hope everone has a beautiful weekend!
Much love from Will, Kelly and Liam

A few pictures to share

Poppa Jones stopped by for a visit with his second grandson. After raising 3 girls, we know he is excited to have a few boys in his life now.

Liam's bodyguard.

Routines....

The roughest thing for me has been trying to get this new routine down. Seems as though its starting to take shape. Little man has started staying up more during the day, and getting more rest at night. It's awesome! Especially for Kelly, he has been wearing her out with his crazy feeding schedule. But I figured it is going to take more than just 2.5 weeks to get his routine down. More like three months. So I am patiently waiting for this day, when sleep may somewhat return to normalcy again, but probably will never be. I am sure glad that I went to college. For college taught me that there are other hours in the day and night that you can get things accomplished. I remember the days at UNCG, staying up to wee hours of the morning and could not figure out why I was doing this. Now I know! I was getting prepared for what was going to happen nearly 9 years later. A little angel named Liam!! Well I will stop rambling. Kelly is doing very well, as is Liam. They are both cuddled on the couch, sleeping like babies. Ah....love their hearts!!! Hope that everyone has a great weekend, and thanks for keeping up with us. Will,Kelly,Liam

Let me think....

Well....

More visiting for Liam.

Snuggle Bug!!

Nana Rice

We had and awesome afternoon and evening. My mother came over to visit and held little Liam in her arms and he passed out like I'm sure I used to in her arms. It was truly awesome. I got some great pics of it. He curled up on her chest in the fetal position and never made one peep. At first Nana Rice didn't want her picture taken, but eventually she opened right to the idea of a few photos with Liam. Thanks mom for all you have done for us. Your love and support mean more than you could imagine. Love you! So after Nana Rice left, we got a call from a friend that just got back home from surgery. So we packed the car and headed further into Beaverdam and had an awesome visit with the Lane's. It was again awesome seeing Liam make someone smile that you know needed it. Snuggling with that little guy will warm up anyone. Thanks Jenny and Brian for having us over, also Karen thanks for being as beautiful as you are and putting up with Jonathan. Love ya'll both. Two Weeks Old!

Love that sugar!!

Liam turns two weeks old today. Amazing how time flies and is probably going to pick up momentum once he gets just a little bit older. We had a very lazy Sunday. I never even left the house. Cleaned the stove, fixed a stopped up drain and kept up with my regular chores. It seems that ever since I have been home things have been breaking. I think the house gods know that I am around to fix it. Well anything to keep my honeys house in order. Cause if mommy ain't happy, well you know the rest. Thanks all for keeping up with us, and hope to see all very soon. Take care and much love from the Rice's. Will, Kelly, Liam

Update from Mom: Liam had his 2 week check up today and he is a healthy, growing boy! Weighing in at 9 pounds 4 oz and he has grown an inch since birth. He is hitting the growth targets spot on and higher. This makes us so proud and comforted.

I want to give a huge heart-felt thanks to my amazing husband. I could not have made it through these past 2 weeks without him and his never-ending support. He has completely taken charge of the house, laundry, food prep, diaper changes, swaddling, the list goes on and on. He has amazed me with his love and support not only for me but for his son. We have found a beautiful balance in our lives as we are getting to know our little guy. Our love for each other has grown immensely, as well as a whole new kind of love we each have for Liam. I must be the luckiest lady on earth to have this incredible man by my side. Thanks Poppa Bear!

Sunrise over Isle of Palms. Thought you might enjoy!

A Little R and R For Everybody

Up the Nantahala River, looking north west into the Great Smoky Mountains.

Heading up the Little Tennessee River into the sunrise.

Like I promised, I came back from Lake Fontana with some beautiful landscape shots. Hope that you enjoy. Fishing was good. Fish seemed to be taking the crankbait in about 10ft. of water. We ended catching 5 fish. Enough about fishing, this post is about Liam. So throughout the day Kelly would send me pictures over my phone updating me on how they were doing. It was Kelly's first time being at home with just Liam and her. She said that everything went very smoothly. Allot of sleeping and chilling around the house. She had visitors come over to help out with the chores and such. Thanks Peyton, I came home and you had all my dirty clothes clean, what a great surprise. We are so blessed to have friends like you. Well I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend and were able to get out and enjoy some of this beautiful mountain sunshine. Take care and we will post soon. Will, Kelly, Liam

Sunshine! Hooray!

Let's do this!

The weather was so beautiful today that it drove Kelly and I to want to get out for a second. Being cooped up in the house for the last two weeks without any sun has been tough. Everybody needs a little sun in their diet, and lord knows we need it. We have been with out for awhile. Well we got to visit my Grandmother Mimi, which would make that Liams Great Grandmother Mimi Meredith. She was born in 1931 in Ahsheville, and still resides on the family land in Emma. She likes to refer to it as Bingham Heights, for all you true locals. She would have my hide if she thought I was telling people she lives in Emma. Either way it is a beautiful part of town that is stuck behind the times. We had a great time visiting with her. She held Liam in her arms as she did me some 31 years ago, and he slept as sound as a bug in a rug. My grandmother smiled from ear to ear. Been along time since I have seen her in such a happy mood. Babies sure do have a way of doing just that. Well we stayed for about and hour then headed back to the house. Little Liam did very well on his car ride to and from. Never made one peep! Well Kelly the sweet wife that she is has givin me the day off tomorrow. So I am headed to Lake Fontana at 5:00 a.m, to go fishing with Brad. Should be a beautiful day, so I will pack my camera to see if I can get some beautiful sunrise shots. Love the sunrise in the spring around here, truly amazing. Just like my wife for allowing me to keep up with one of my favorite past times, fishing of all types. So to you Kelly, I Love Very much. Take care everyone and thanks for following the blog. This has been really fun sharing our day's with you all. Always, Will, Kelly, Liam

Oh What a Beautiful Day.

Specail thanks to Mrs. Jackie Patilo of Burlington, NC for the beautiful blue blanket.

Oh what a beautiful day it was. The weather ended up being perfect to sit outside and enjoy some coffee. Even brought Liam outside for a little fresh air and sunshine. Today was the first time that I have actually seen him cry. I accidentally dropped the camera on his head and he did not like it. Let out a squeal that I have yet to hear, and sure I will be hearing alot of. He cried for about 2 minutes then fell asleep in my arms. I almost cried myself, it was rough. Wanted to thank Nana Hoodie for the new recliner, it has come in handy during the NCAA tourney and also with nursing. Received one of the most awesome gifts from a friend of mines mother in Burlington. She hand knit Liam a blue blanket, beautiful as can be. It's going to go beautifully with the quilt and teddy bear that Aunt Rachey made him as well. I love the old school of thought. When someone hear's there is a baby coming they grab their threads and needles. Just plain awesome. Thanks Mrs. Jackie Patillo, Liam will take good care of it. Thanks for all of the visits today, they mean alot. Sleep well and see y'all real soon. Will, Kelly, Liam

And Goodnight!! Liam....

Another Mission to Mission!

Gotta go to Mission today. Merely for education, no poking and prodding this time. This will be Liam's third trip out, keep ya informed on how he does. Right now he has drunkin milk baby syndrome. See pic above :) And yes, that is my two bacon and egg biscuits in the foreground. Made by yours truly. Always, Will,Kelly,Liam

Back from Mission and all is well, feeding is right on track and the little dude is up to 9 pounds already! Now mom can rest assured that he is getting what he needs from her. Happy mom = happy home.

Odds and Ends

We're getting there!

Thought would never be able to sit down today to actually update the blog, but here I am. Only 1.5 hours left in the day. Wow were did it go. Spent some of the day installing a new celing fan/light combo in Liam's room. Almost have his room all wrapped up. Need a few more items like a rug and a piece of art for the east facing wall. We'll get there, then it will be time to change it. Last night was a little rough. Liam was up ever hour on the hour, wanting to eat. Amazing how you think you have some routine down then. So today Kelly and I spent alot of time napping. It was awesome. One of my favorite things about all of this is that I get to wait on Kelly! See around here this never really happens much, she is a very independent gal. So now she is forced to ask me for about everything, and I love it. Well hope that you all are dong well and hope to see you all very soon. Take care and enjoy the photos and videos. They were from today. Also Teddy Pitts if you read this Liam says thanks for the "Rough Wear", he loves it. Take care of yourselves. Love,Will,Kelly,Liam

Uncle Teddy thanks! Liam.

Time for my favorite thing! Sleepy time! Good night to all!
