again, wow. 11 months already? liam is not only walking and babbling but HE FINALLY GOT 2 TEETH!!!!! 10 months turned out to be a big one for the little guy. he started walking at 10 1/2 months and is all but running now. he can pop himself up from the floor to a stand, meaning he no longer needs an object to get upright. he loves to be chased around. his most favorite giggle inducer of late is going on a fast ride on a wheeled stool from one end of the house to the other. in fact, anything with wheels that moves is pretty much the shiz for this kid. he has also mastered going up and down stairs, getting off of the bed and couch by turning around, dropping his legs off and sliding to the ground. smart one this child is. quick to learn and retain. there isn't a food he doesn't like so far, which i am super thankful for. every day is more and more fun and i can't believe in a few weeks he will be one!!! we are so lucky to get to wake up to his smile each day and share in his wonder at the new things that each day brings.

10 months!

liam's first christmas!

wow. it's hard to believe my little man is 10 months old already. he is so close to turning one i can taste it! liam is now taking a few steps on his own, when he has the courage to let go of whatever he is cruising on. it makes me smile to see him steady himself and discover his sense of balance. i almost stop myself from encouraging walking because know i am really in for it once those 2 wheels hit the ground. but, i help him along because he is progressing so nicely and there is so much to explore at this new level in the world. i know i would be ready to get up off the floor! at this rate he will be full on walking before he cuts any teeth. yes, that is right he is still my toothless wonder. ok by me though, he is still a champion eater and is usually willing to try new things...although many times the new things induce a wonderful yucky face. we have been making the most of this crazy snowy winter. lots of playing indoors and grabbing walks when it warms above freezing. mostly i just relish in his delight with each day. he is such happy guy and i try to live by his outlook on life. when everything is new, it is exciting! i love learning through him about all of the things in the world. his little smile is so infectious and he is a total ladies man. must be all of the girls nights i have taken him to.

9 months

i am shocked that my baby is 9 months old! he continues to delight in new things each day, giggling, walking with the assistance of a push behind walker (video to come), dancing to classic hip-hop with mom and dad...he is such a good natured babe too. goes to strangers with no problem (as in strangers to him, he must get the vibe that mom or dad know the person), is totally content when i leave him with either of his nanas. poor guy still has no teeth but is devouring food regardless! loves to feed himself and make a great mess for the dog to clean up...liam is now jake's favorite person! he plays the piano (video to come), and sings and goodness does he babble alot, he is going to be a talker! we went with the family to charleston for thanksgiving which was so much fun. we had a full house for a few days, and then the rice trio got a few days alone on the isle of palms. overall liam travelled well, however he did not sleep the whole ride as he used to at 2 and 4 months of age. he napped about an hour each way and then had to be entertained. it made the trip go a lot faster though, playing and singing in the back seat ; ) i had hoped to get some photos of him in the snow, but it was just too damn cold to pluck him down in it for the sake of a memory. maybe next time when it isn't in the teens! we are looking forward to his first christmas and wish you all a very merry one! relish in the comfort of your family and friends and remember the spirit of the season...celebrating and sharing, not just getting loot.

8 months

well, yet another month has flown by along with the seasons. we are having a fun fall filled with afternoon strolls by the lake, a visit to the pumpkin patch and a trip to visit family and the river in brevard. liam is way too much fun, he enjoys being chased around the house, mimicking your tones with high and low pitches, saying mamamamma and is full of giggles and smiles. still no teeth, but he loves to eat and is ready for anything other than the pureed stuff he has been eating for the past few months. we are certainly staying busy keeping up with him as he cruises the house and stands up on anything he can find to grab on to. he has even begun to move from one stationary object to another, momentarily standing on his own. he loves bath time and gets so excited he giggles and dances at the sight of the tub filling and his toys waiting for him to dive in. he is clapping, slyly smiling when told no, flirting with any lady he meets. just the other day he was rubbing on a large Buddha belly in the house and turned to look at me and said "ooohhhhhmmmmmm", it was pretty cute. this kid is going to have one awesome personality! we are taking a mini vacay for turkey day and will post photos when we get back. happy thanksgiving to all!
